University Based ScholarshipsUniversity Scholarship Program ScholarshipsSonoma State University offers several scholarship programs. The merit-based University Scholarship Program is the largest one, requiring a single application packet. The application packet consists of a narrative, two letters of recommendation, transcripts, and the application. You must be an applicant, already accepted, or a current student at SSU in order to apply for a university scholarship. The application period begins in November for the next academic year. The deadline to submit the materials is January 15.Presidential Scholar ProgramIn addition to the above program, SSU also guarantees a $1,000 Presidential Scholar at Entrance Scholarship for incoming freshmen who have a cumulative weighted 4.0 g.p.a. or above for their sophomore, junior and first semester senior years. The g.p.a. calculation does not include P.E. courses but does allow for weighting of courses according to your high school's policy. If you are interested in participating in the Presidential Scholar at Entrance Scholarship Program, please contact the scholarship coordinator at:Scholarship Coordinator Salazar 1010 Sonoma State University 1801 East Cotati Ave. Rohnert Park, CA 94928 (707) 664-2261 CSU Future Scholars ScholarshipsThis scholarship is designed for low-income, first-generation college students. In the support of this partnership, and to enhance the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science Program at SSU, the Agilent Technologies Foundation provided ten $3000 scholarships (known as ATF Scholarships) to BSES students for the academic year 2005-06. It is expected that about the same number of $3000 ATF Scholarships will be available for the academic year 2006-07 also. These will be awarded in recognition of merit only; financial need will not be considered in the selection process. Scholarships will be paid at $1500 per semester. Most of these awards will be made to the new BSES students entering SSU in Fall 2006. The continuing and newly admitted BSES students are invited to apply for these scholarships by Friday, September 8th, 2006. Please visit ATF Scholarships for specific information.Departmental ScholarshipsAnother source of scholarships on campus are the departments which you may call or e-mail through their home pages. |
