Heather Kohler Flynn Office TBA, Phone TBA, heather.flynn@sonoma.edu Heather Flynn, Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at SSU, received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Davis. Her research and teaching interests include social psychology, gender, youth and adolescence, the life course, social relationships, social networks, and research methods. Her publications have focused on the following topics: self-esteem, job search organizations, and social relationships. Her dissertation focuses on friendship characteristics and quality during adolescence and early adulthood. Her current projects include: (1) identity formation on facebook.com, (2) bathroom-wall writing, (3) the influence of gender and extracurricular activity participation on self-esteem, (4) adolescent social networks, (5) social norms in and out of the bedroom, and (6) friendship across the life course.
