Fall 2012 Internships
Students doing a sociology internship for the first time are required to take a 1-unit Internship Practicum course (Sociology 496) during the same semester in which they receive sociology credit (Soci 499) for their internship. All internships must be approved by the course instructor and require enrollment in the Internship Practicum.
Fall 2012 Sections:
Soci 496.1: Internship Practicum, M 6:00-6:50(1 unit, C/NC)
Soci 496.2: Internship Practicum, TH 12:00-12:50 (1 unit, C/NC)
Enroll in Sociology 496 (Internship Practicum) using the usual online course add process. Enrollment in Sociology 499 will be done at the start of the Spring semester through the internship contract form, which must be submitted within the first two weeks of the semester.
Students enrolled in the Internship Practicum will receive credit for the internship itself through Sociology 499. Students are eligible to receive 1 unit for every 45 hours completed at the internship field site, with a maximum of 4 units per semester.
Sociology 496 may not be repeated for credit. Sociology 499 may be repeated for credit for up to 8 units, but only 4 units may be used toward the major.
