Amy Levine
came to the University of California, San
Francisco as the first Coordinator of the
Rape Prevention Education Program. She subsequently
became the founding Director of the UCSF
Women's Resource Center and subsequently
received her Ed.D. from UC Berkeley. In 1998
she became Director of the UCSF Center for
Gender Equity. She has substantial expertise
on topics that affect women, including issues
of ethnic diversity, sexual orientation,
and age, among others.
Dr. Levine has received
numerous awards, including Women Who Make
a Difference from the San Francisco
Commission on the Status of Women, and the
UCSF Chancellor’s Award for the Advancement
of Women, for her work promoting gender equity.
She currently serves on the Board of the American
Council of Education. Recently, Dr. Levine
received an appointment as a Presidential Fellow
with the University of California, Office of
the President, to develop innovative programs
to advance the interests of women staff through
the UC system.
