Adopt-a-School ~ Vallejo High School
We will begin our second year in partnership with Vallejo High School this spring. We have internships and student volunteers working as tutors at the high school, as well as faculty guest speakers in the classrooms. As the venture grows we hope to include more people. Our hope is that faculty will consider suggesting that their students work in VHS, where they will have the opportunity to work with Filipino, African American, and Asian students in the classroom. The project has a steering committe made up of Miriam Hutchins, Maureen Buckley, Velma Guillory-Taylor, Joyce Johnson, Mary Halavais, and a few people from Arts and Humanities. To find out about our adopt-a-school program and what you can do to get involved, call the school office at 664-2112.
