Parents and visitors and siblings, oh my!
Mariah Wegener , Staff Writer

Ah, another year of college. Or maybe it's your first and you're thinking that you've just regained your freedom from a summer at home with your parents. Not too fast: Parents' Weekend is the first weekend in October.

Don't worry, this isn't a time for your parents to come and criticize your lifestyle at college. Rather, it's a great weekend to spend with your family; catching up and enjoying Sonoma State University and the events throughout the weekend, as well as introducing your family to the community.

SF Comedy Competition'Buddy body works:' The workout created for friends
Erin Cooper, Staff Writer

Sometimes it seems that there is an excuse to get out of everything, especially when it comes to exercising. You're too tired and you just don't have the time. You woke up feeling sick today, yesterday, and probably tomorrow. The gym scares you because there are too many machines and you have no idea how to use them.

Maybe you go to the gym, but you feel like you’re not getting the most of your work out and you still haven't done anything to change that.  Whatever your excuse maybe for why you don't go to they gym, or why you don't make the most out of your workout, it’s time to stop rationalizing and just get to it. Buddy Body Works may be the right program to put an end to the excusing and let the exercising begin.

I had the amazing opportunity to actually follow personal trainer Charley Alejos and two of his clients to see exactly how the system works and what it pertained. What I saw was a team of two very enthusiastic girls competing against each other to give their work out everything they had. What made watching them so easy were the laughs and smiles associated with their sweaty workout.  The girls told me the best part about the buddy system is you get to have the opportunity to push yourself while keeping your friend motivated to stay on track.
