Criminal Justice. Last year Emily was Hillside Village Council President, President of both the Women in Philosophy club and the Philosophy Club, and graduated from the Associated Students Future Officer Program. Before being elected AS President Emily sat on the Fee Advisory Committee, the Academic Freedom Subcomittee and the Student Center Board of Advisors as a student representative. Some of Emily’s achievements during her time at Sonoma State include; coming in first place in the Warren Court Essay Contest, receiving the Gary Wintermeyer Community Involvement Award, and most recently, being elected Associated Students President with the highest voter turnout in six years.
Emily has also made an effort to be an active member of her community, she completed an internship at COTS(Committee on the Shelterless) a year ago and continues to volunteer with the children’s program at the shelter today. In addition Emily works at Swirl Time part time and as a nanny for a family in Petaluma.
My name is Savannah Guinn and I'm a fifth year from Novato, Marin County. I'm doing a double major in Environmental Studies and Planning as well as Liberal Studies through the Hutchins program. I currently serve as Associated Students' Senator of Diversity, and I also work as Campus Recreation's Sustainability Coordinator. My role on the Board is as a student representative.
I am a sophomore Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies Major. I have been involved in new student orientation as an orientation leader, I am an Associated Student Representative, and I work in the Student Outreach office as well as the Campus Recreation Center. My role on the board is to represent the Associated Student Body to the best of my abilities by seeking problems to actively create resolutions.
I'm Valeria and I'm the new Social Sciences Senator for the 2016-2017 school year! I am from Silicon Valley, MountainView to be exact, and decided to attend Sonoma State because of the beautiful scenery that surrounds it, as well as the fact that it's not too far away from home and I am a huge family girl. At Sonoma, I have been involved in numerous activities such as being a part of a sorority the past two years, being Vice President of Model UN last year and now President, working for the Board of Supervisors for Sonoma County, as well as being an intern for California State Senate's Election Campaign. This year I hope to increase student attendance at Social Sciences events, as well as improve communications between faculty and students.
I'm a fourth year Criminal Justice major and am the AS Involvement Senator. I also work as a Peer Mentor and in the Undeclared Advising/EOP Office. I've previously also been a Summer Orientation and Summer Bridge leader. My role on the board for the Rec and Student Center is to be a student member and represent the study body as best as I can.
I am a non-student member of the Student Center and Campus Recreation Center Board of Advisors. I am the Associate Vice President of Administration and Finance and have been a part of the development of the Student Center since the beginning. As an alumni I am proud to say I received both my bachelor’s and master’s from Sonoma State University.
I am a non-student member appointed as the Vice President of Administration and Finance’s designee. I was involved with the Student Center planning and construction process as a member of the Student Center Partner group and helped develop the financial plan for the project. Currently, I assist in developing and overseeing the budgets related to both the Student Center and Recreation Center operations.
I am a non-student member appointed as the President’s designee. I am currently the Director of Student Center & Event Operations and Campus Recreation. I was brought into the Student Center project almost 2 years before it opened. I oversee the day to day operation of Student Center, Campus Recreation, University Box Office and General Services (Campus Prints and Shipping & Receiving). I am a graduate of Sonoma State University for both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
