Partners & Governance

Each of the following groups are financially invested in the Student Center project. We have partnered together in an effort to create a centralized space for students and the campus community to gather and interact.

Housing Services

The purpose of Housing Services is to support the University's educational mission by assisting students, faculty, and staff in locating, securing, and maintaining suitable living accommodations. Also embedded in our purpose is the encouragement and support of student learning and personal development.


Sonoma Student Union Corporation

The Sonoma Student Union Corporation (SSUC) is a student-run auxiliary of Sonoma State University. The SSUC enriches the student experience through its three departments: Campus Recreation, Sonoma Student Union, and Technical Services. A student-led Board of Directors is responsible for approving the annual budget and reviewing the Corporation’s policies, programs and services. The Board meets monthly during the academic year and all meetings are open to the public.


Associated Students

The Associated Students of Sonoma State University a student-run auxiliary organization of Sonoma State University. The Associated Students works to enrich the lives of all Sonoma State University Students. The Associated Students accomplishes this mission by promoting student interests through advocacy and representation. The Associated Students, as a corporation owned and governed by students, supports a variety of programs, services and organizations to enhance the student experience at Sonoma State University.


Sonoma State Enterprises

Sonoma State Enterprises, Inc. is a not-for-profit, auxiliary corporation of Sonoma State University, established to provide services that are not eligible for state funding, but are nonetheless crucial to the life of the campus. Sonoma State Enterprises operates retail and dining functions, including the University Bookstore, Charlie Brown's Cafe, Ameci's Pizza and Pasta, University Commons, the University Club, the Pub in the Student Union, Zinfandel Dining Services, Campus Vending, University Catering, Reprographics printing services, General Services, and refrigerator rentals. Enterprises' net proceeds, after establishment of appropriate reserves, are provided to the university in support of the educational mission. The corporation is governed by a policy-making board of directors comprised of faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community members.


Students

The students of Sonoma State University voted in support of the Student Center project in April 2011. Beginning in the Fall 2013 semester, a $150 fee from students will contribute to the building and operational functions of the Student Center.
