Our Parent Participation Policy
All members of the community are valued for their participation and support to help us with our sustainability. In particular parent participation is vital to the health and wealth of the children's learning and development.
Parent participation provides a bridge between home and school that enriches all of our experiences together and helps to guide us toward sustainability. Parents are requested to choose ways to participate in their child's education and care:
- As a member of the Parent Club and Advisory Board become an "Active Advocate" during the year by getting to know the ASI Senators and executive officers and letting them know how valuable the program is to you.
Write a letter of support for the school for our "Book of Testimonials".
Participate in the Children's School Governing Board. This year's initiative is "Schooling for Sustainability - It's all about relationships".
- As a member of the Parent Club and Advisory Board become involved in fundraising activities and encourage others to participate. Escrip is a quick and easy way to offer ongoing financial support at no cost to you. See www.escrip.com and look for "Make a Difference in Four Easy Steps." "Step 1: Sign Up - It's Free!"
Our Group ID number is: 5824735.
Bulb sales and cards sales, dining out, and greenraising are also events scheduled during the year. See www.greenraising.org
- Volunteer at the Children's School for special classroom projects, special events such as the Family Fun Festival or The Halloween Faire, and workdays.
- Donate to our wish list posted on our website and at the school.
The participation clipboard is located in the pocket file in the reception area. It is your responsibility to record your hours.
Each semester total hours of participation are based on your child's scheduled days per week: 3 days=12 hours, 4 days=14 hours, and 5 days= 16 hours
