CULTURAL GRADUATION CELEBRATIONS

Members of the University Community are invited to attend or participate in any of the celebrations listed below. These celebrations are to acknowledge the accomplishments of students from several underrepresented cultures who are graduating this year.
If you wish to participate in one or several of these graduations, please contact the people listed for each celebration.
If you are not graduating, but wish to attend in support of the graduates, please RSVP to the contacts listed for each celebration.
Rainbow Graduation Celebration
Thurs., May 26 at 7 p.m., Green Music Center Prelude Room
The Rainbow Graduation Celebration is a time for the queer, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, intersex, questioning, same-gender-loving people and their friends, family, and allies of Sonoma State University to come together to celebrate the accomplishments of the last year and to recognize those moving on to the next chapter in their lives.

28th Annual Raza Graduation Celebration
Fri., May 27 at 6 p.m., Green Music Center
Each year graduating Sonoma State University students with Native American, Latino or Chicano heritage gather for La Raza graduation. Many of the graduates participating in the La Raza ceremony are first-generation college grads, and this special celebration allows them to personally thank those who have gone out of their way to work with the students and help them achieve the goal of a college degree.

19th Annal African-American Graduation Celebration
Fri., May 27 at 6 p.m., Green Music Center Wedding Lawn & Prelude
The African American Graduation Celebration is an opportunity for the University to acknowledge the achievements of African-American students and the students to thank their families, friends, faculty and mentors.

First Asian Pacific Islander Graduation Celebration
Friday, May 27 at 4pm, Cooperage
The API Graduation Celebration complements the main commencement in that it specifically acknowledges and celebrates Pacific Islander/Asian American graduates and their families.
