Last Chance to Backup Zoom Cloud Recordings

Monday, February 14, 2022, 12:30pm

TO: All employees
FR: Information Technology

Effective February 25, 2022, all Zoom cloud recordings will switch from being preserved indefinitely to being preserved for a maximum of 120 days. This change is due to an increase in the number of  Zoom cloud recordings in conjunction with a limited cloud storage quota.

This will be an immediate and retroactive change. Not only will all future recordings that exceed this period be deleted on a rolling basis, but also all current video recordings that are older than 120 days will be instantly and irrevocably deleted on February 25.

If you want to preserve any recordings that are, or will be, older than 4 months, download archival copies of them as soon as possible. You can keep local copies of the recordings or store them indefinitely on other platforms, including YouTube, Google Drive, and YuJa. If you do not need to preserve your videos, then there is no action you need to take.

Contact the IT Help Desk with any questions about this change. We appreciate your help and time navigating the transition.
