Econ 403 is a seminar level course that integrates a community research activity, traditional lecturing and interactive class, and a country research project, for the overriding objective of learning international economic development.

  • Beneficiaries of the project or program
    • Ultimate beneficiaries (people, animals, o environments)
    • Intermediate beneficiaries: groups or organizations who help ultimate beneficiaries
  • Description of the project or program
    • Their objectives
    • How the project achieve its objectives
    • Donors or Government agencies that support the program


  • Attendance: how many days and/or hours have you attended and participated within the local group? Keep a record of visits: dates, and times.

Narrative of your impressions and thoughts

  • Personal meaning of this experience for you
  • Your impressions on the social and economic worth of the project: state your criteria for your assessment
  • Considering research country, are the causes of the social and economic problem similar or different than in the local case? If different, in what way? What is the difference in the context?
  • You will use your answers to these questions, when you write the paper for your research project.

Create your own outlines. Write questions and suggestions. Re-organize your thoughts. Let your notebook evolve according to your learning needs.
