DRC Projects:

spinners

These Petri disk spinners are like cake decorating turntables or lazy susan's. We start with bulk aluminum rods 4" for the turntable and 3" for the base.

We cut the bulk material down appropriate size for our use.Putting them on the lathe we faced and turned them into the parts we need. The spindles are press fit into the top plate then.

spinners

DuPont™ Delrin® cups were made the put into the base. A bearing is dropped into the cup and then spindle. A bit of marine grease and they should last for a good long time.
