THE LEGALITY OF TESTS
The two-rule test is used to determine if selection tests are legal.
Rule I. Does the test produce adverse impact?
- If the answer is No, the test is legal.
- If the answer is Yes, go to rule II.
Rule II. Is the test job related?
- If the answer is No, the test is illegal.
- If the answer is Yes, the test is legal.
And that is how you determine if a test is legal.
