  7. Do the same for an odd function.
  8. Draw a graph with time on the x-axis (beginning when you got out of bed this morning), and distance from your bed on the y-axis.
  9. What are the three major function families? Give several examples of functions in each family.
  10. What does (f + g)(x) mean? Explain in words and using symbols.
  11. What does (fog)(x) mean? Explain in words and using symbols.
  12. What does it mean for two functions to be inverses? Explain in words, using symbols, and using the function machine picture.
