From Sciencedaily.com: Scientists at Brown University have implanted chips in Rhesus monkey's brains that allow them to move a cursor of a computer. They had the monkeys play pinball, and then they shut the buttons off that are normally hand controlled. So the primate was still using its hands, but only the input from the chip was used to control the computer game.

The idea is that this technology can help people with paralysis, like Lou Gherigs disease and Parkinson's. The original release can be found at brown.edu
