Satellite

Description

In this class, you will create land-cover maps from satellite imagery. The class takes a hands-on approach, but mixes practical skills with the appropriate theoretical background for a thorough understanding of basic concepts. You will learn how to import raw satellite data into computer software programs, preprocess them for radiometric and geometric corrections, enhance them for better interpretation, and finally classifying them into land-cover maps using various statistical techniques. You will then groundtruth these images to assess their accuracy. As an independent project, you will then explore a way to increase the accuracy of your initial attempt.
