I am Liana Hain, RN, BSN, MS,
CCRN and am working with Dr. Tom Nolan as a TA for
Nursing 400. I am a full time nursing instructor at
Evergreen Valley College (ADN program) and am
presently on sabbatical to learn more about
distance learning. My bedside nursing practice
involves critical care transport through a national
ambulance company. I transport patients between
hospitals in a mobile intensive care unit.
I received my BSN from San
Jose State University in 1985. I received my MS
from UCSF where I majored in critical care/trauma
nursing and minored in education & AIDS. I am
also nationally published on the issue of
stigmatization of persons with AIDS in ICUs. I have
been a tenured faculty at EVC for 7 years now and
really enjoy teaching. My philosophy of nursing
education is to keep the learning environment as
non-threatening as possible to maximize the
students' abilities to think and learn. I am very happily married,
live in Santa Cruz, have 2 teenage sons and lots of
friends. My hobbies are canning, knitting,
traveling, reading non-fiction, gourmet cooking,
and hiking. |
