FACULTY DUTIES IN COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES (CAPS)
Provide counseling to SSU students experiencing personal
concerns or psychological distress
Provide consultation to SSU staff
and faculty regarding their concerns related to students
Provide
training, workshops, and other outreach activities for the SSU
community
Serve as Training Coordinator and supervisor for Ph.D. and MA
students in Internship Program

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Michael received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1974. He became licensed as a Psychologist in California in 1976 and has provided counseling, consultation, and training in the following settings: university counseling center, community mental health, medical hospitals and clinics, psychiatric hospitals, Peace Corps Training, and an international exchange student program. He has held teaching positions in undergraduate, graduate, and medical school settings. Michael has been in private practice in Sonoma County since 1981 and has served as President of the Redwood Psychological Association and as a Board Member of the California Psychological Association. His professional interests include psychological assessment, clinical hypnosis, stress management, coping with health concerns, and dealing with life transitions.
