| At least ten meetings of the semester will be devoted to presentations by faculty and staff from all areas of the University who will focus on moments of significant personal learning. Class meetings will provide an opportunity for students to identify their own learning style preference, and to explore the implications of adult learning theory to their academic career. In order to receive a credit grade, class members will: - Attend class and participate in discussion (3 absences or less). "AT CERTAIN MOMENTS IN OUR LIVES, MIND SEEMS TO WHISPER TO MEMORY: "PRINT THIS." THOSE MOMENTS STAY WITH US; WHETHER AS WORDS, PERCEPTIONS, OR THE PRESENCE OF A PERSON. OCCASIONALLY WE FAIL TO REALIZE THEIR SIGNIFICANCE AT THE TIME. DRAMATIC MOMENTS THAT WE ASSUME WILL LOOM LARGE, FADE WITH THE YEARS, WHILE CRUXES ARE CONTAINED IN MOMENTS WHICH OCCUR UNHERALDED, BUT WHICH STICK AND STAY WITH US." If you are a student with a disability and you think you may require accommodations, you must register with the campus office of Disabled Student Services, located in Salazar Hall, room 1049, phone 664-2677. DSS will provide you with written confirmation of your verified disability and authorize recommended accommodations. This authorization must be presented to the instructor before any accommodations can be made.
