I seek to better understand tectonic and landscape processes as they are recorded in terrestrial and marine basins. I work at the interface between sedimentary geology, geomorphology, and geochronology. I'm currently advising several active student-led projects focused on the Cenozoic stratigraphy of the Laramide foreland region and Cordillera, and investigating the effects of lithologically-determined durability differences on modern sedimentary processes and compositions in mountain streams of Idaho and along gravel beaches and submarine canyons
