I seek to better understand tectonic and landscape processes as they are recorded in tectonically-formed basins. I work at the interface between sedimentary geology, geomorphology, and geochronology. I maintain active student-involved projects focused on the Cenozoic stratigraphy of the Laramide foreland region and Cordillera. I am also currently investigating the effects of lithologically-determined durability differences on modern sedimentary processes and compositions in mountain streams of Idaho and along gravel beaches and submarine canyons adjacent to the Mendocino Triple Junction.
