Faculty can contribute funds to support the continued employment of lecturers;
contributed funds would be leveraged by C$Ds:

C$Ds could fund Extension & Special Sessions courses

C$Ds could fund community-based research and service projects that could
provide alternative sources of employment
Benefits to the non-profit community

Interns in the critical areas of health, mental health & education
could be funded by C$Ds to cover the low tech end of these sectors in crisis

C$Ds could fund relevant research projects

C$Ds could fund faculty consultants to nonprofit organizations

C$Ds permit in-kind contributions by individuals and businesses to be automatically
converted into a liquid medium of exchange, rather than requiring the organization
to find a buyer for the contributed good or service

Increased utilization of underutilized productive capacity (increased marginal
sales)

Increased community awareness of local businesses

Opportunity to donate goods and services as C$D credits instead of as scarce
US$ or goods and services that must be sold by the organization
