ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA

PURPOSE:          The purpose of this course is to prepare students for Intermediate Algebra which is the state wide prerequisite for mathematics courses which will count towards bachelors degrees and satisfy general education requirements. A major goal of this course is to increase students' mathematical fluency.

GRADING:         Midterms .............................................................45%

                              Homework............................................................15%

                              Final Exam.............................................................40%

 

             Homework is the most important part of the course. If you keep up with the homework you will probably do well. If you do not, you probably will not do well. The midterms and final exam will cover the material on the homework. The final exam is the deadline for all late work. Students are responsible for announcements made in class.
