Water Works will forge exciting new campus connections, with events ranging across the SSU campus from indoor theaters, to classrooms, to art galleries, to site-specific events at bodies of water. Fine arts exhibitions and linked coursework will create interdisciplinary engagement for students and faculty. Plays will range from traditional, fully-scripted plays to plays created through conversations with local community members. Coordinated by the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance in the School of Arts and Humanities, the events of Water Works will explore inland water flow as a locus of political and social interaction, as well as a site of imagination and memory.
Crossover participation includes the School of Science and Technology, Field Stations and Nature Preserves, the School of Social Sciences, the Department of Music, the Studio Arts program, and the Schulz Information Center Gallery.
