Located in the heart of California wine country and created through a partnership between the university and the wine industry, Sonoma State's Wine Business Program is the first and only program in the United States to focus exclusively on the business aspects of the wine industry. The Wine Business Program is located within the university's School of Business & Economics; a fully accredited AACSB institution. While other universities have programs that emphasize grape growing and wine making, Sonoma State's program offers a specialized curriculum targeted on the business challenges of the wine industry. Courses are offered in Wine Marketing, Wine Finance and Accounting, Human Resources Management, Wine Business Strategies and Wine Production, Operations & Distribution.
Our latest degree offering is an M.B.A. Business Administration with a concentration in Wine Business.This degree is intended for students seeking leadership positions within the global wine industry. For our students' convenience, all graduate level courses are offered as evening classes. For the Wine Industry professional and those seeking to join the industry, the university offers its Professional Development Courses. These classes are designed specifically to improve the range of skills for those already employed within the wine industry. Each spring, the University offers a semester-long course in Wine Entrepreneurship sponsored by the Chalone Foundation. This course is intended to help those who wish to enter the industry and start new businesses.
