SSU Ranked Among Top Universities for 2013. Dorms Named Some of Best in US
U.S. News and World Report also ranked SSU #46 among its 89 peers in regional universities of the West. The publication annually assesses and recognizes universities across the country and SSU has consistently been featured in its rankings for the last two decades.
The overall rankings take into account such factors as peer assessments, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.
The Princeton Review named SSU among its 377 best colleges in the nation and ranked the campus housing services high in the "Best College Dorms" category at #17. The Review ranking was two points higher than last year. With 35 percent of students living on campus, it is a significant one, say University officials.
The Princeton Review compiles its rankings by surveying more than 122,000 students, and then compiles its findings into 62 ranked lists, with categories that cover a wide range of information, from academics and administration to extra-curricular and social scene.
U.S. News and World Report examines information about universities including factors such as freshman retention, graduation rates, and strength of the faculty and overall cost of attendance.
U.S. News and World Report also collects data from opinion surveys and information from school websites to rank colleges.
