Dr. Dawn Danz Named Crisis Counselor
Dr. Dawn Danz has been named the new Crisis Advocate at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). She joined CAPS in Fall 2012 and can be reached at 4-2153 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
Danz received her doctorate of psychology from Argosy University-San Francisco Bay Area campus and is a licensed psychologist in California. Prior to coming to SSU, she worked at Brigham Young University and several UCs including Berkeley, Irvine, and Santa Barbara.
Danz is a generalist psychologist with clinical interests that include: racial identity development, first year and transfer student concerns, crisis and social advocacy, working with survivors of assault, couples therapy, depression, and anxiety.
The Crisis Advocate is trained to support students who have experienced: assault (physical, sexual, emotional, mental), stalking, violent or potentially violent relationships, abusive relationships, domestic or intimate partner violence, sexual assault, rape, incest, bias-related incidents, harassment, hate crimes, hazing, and any other victimization.
