Undergraduate Research Grants Available
As a part of its allocation of Instructionally Related Activity fees, the Fee Advisory Committee has funded the Undergraduate Research Grant Program for the 2013-2014 academic year. These research grants are designed to aid undergraduates with expenses they may incur in their research projects, such as supplies, equipment, or travel to present their research at professional or scholarly meetings. The maximum award is $750 per grant, with an average award of $500. To qualify, a research project must be supported by a faculty sponsor and must be directly related to a class in which the student is enrolled.
Faculty are encouraged to make this information available to students who are engaged in or considering independent research projects. As the research grants have become increasingly competitive, faculty and students are urged to the guidelines and meet the application deadline.
Guidelines and application forms are available in the Academic Affairs office, Stevenson 1041, or on the web at www.sonoma.edu/aa/ap. The deadline for applications is October 4, 2013. No late applications will be accepted. For further information contact David Hartranft at x4-2237, or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
