Dr. Robert Girling Journey: In Search Of Enlightenment On Five Continents

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) Last Lecture Series Presents: Dr Robert Girling.

On Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. in the Cooperage join Dr. Robert Girling in his quest for meaning from his childhood in Jamaica where his family resided for 250 years, to his teaching at Sonoma State University. Come and hear some of his remarkable stories and how you can live a life of engagement and service.

His journey has led him to a variety of activities from advising governments and international agencies to teaching and service in over 20 countries including:

  • Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jamaica on employment policy
  • Consultant to the United Nations in Guatemala
  • Research on education of girls with the International Center for Research on Women in Nepal, India and the Dominican Republic
  • Leader of an advisory mission on training throughout the Caribbean
  • Teaching and founding a school improvement program in Brazil
  • Leading study tours in Cuba, Vietnam and Kenya
  • Researching ‘good companies’ in Switzerland and the US
  • Volunteer service in Guatemala and Bali
  • Co-founding the Sustainable Enterprise Conference series at Sonoma State University
  • Writing about spirituality and business in the US
