My name is Bria Gabor. I am a sophomore undergraduate student at SSU, majoring in Communications and minoring in dance. On campus I am part of FAASSU (Filipino American Association of SSU) and Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. This is my first year as a Writing Center tutor and I LOVE IT!
My hobbies include singing, dancing, fitness, mixing music, playing piano, composing music and writing spoken word poetry. I hope to pursue motivational speaking and performance as a career. I am a huge fan of transgression art, a form of art and performance often used to promote causes, activism, and even simply arouse a strong response from audience members and passersby. I hope to work mainly with youth, and address issues such as bullying, cultural awareness, self-expression and acceptance, and volunteer work. My favorite quote is from Rachelle Joy Scott: “I have this theory that if one person goes out of their way to show compassion, they will start a chain reaction of the same; people will never know how far a little kindness can go.”
