Daniel Smith directs Multilingual Learners (MLL), a federally-funded TRiO program designed to support the academic success of students from diverse language backgrounds. Since he began working at SSU in 2006, Daniel has held several positions on campus. He has worked as a writing specialist for Learning Skills Services, coordinator of the READ program, academic coordinator and manager of NoGAP, and part-time English instructor. In his free time, Daniel likes to go hiking with his dogs, Lukas and Millie Mae, take naps, and learn the secrets of the world from eccentrics. His current goals include earning a doctoral degree from Northeastern University and learning to play the banjo.
