Sonoma State University is fully accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). In addition, individual program accreditations have been granted by the American Chemical Society, the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the National Association for Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and the Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business. Programs in SSU's School of Education are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
The Interim Associate Vice President for Academic Programs, Dr. Richard Whitkus, is the WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) for SSU.
