Join us for a night of poetry, workshopping and open-mics. All are welcome. This week’s featured poets are Jose Hernandez-Kolski and Carina Buzo. Joe is a two-time HBO Def Poet and Emmy Award-Winner, with a passion for telling the truth through humor. His specialty is hip-hop and spoken word, but his skillset includes everything from acting to screen-writing to producing. As Featured Poet, he will be performing some of his best pieces, so make sure to join us. Carina is a Stockton native, a slam poet extraordinaire who grounds her work in feminist, queer, and intersectional theory. As a young poet, she participated in Brave New Voices, an international youth poetry slam, and the Future Corps Fellowship program, where she learned leadership skills as well as how to successfully run a non-profit. We’re so excited to have her back in the HUB, teaching a new generation of poets.
