Social Action Student Symposium (SASSy)

A symposium of student work related to social justice themes, presented by the School of Social Sciences Student Research Group (SSSRG). Projects may include historical or contemporary studies on social justice topics including, but not limited to, environmental justice, reproductive justice, economic systems, prejudice and discrimination, criminal justice systems, wealth and poverty, educational access, populism, racism, and political polarization. Studies of social movements, policy, mobilization, political enfranchisement, community-building, or other efforts to overcome injustices and social problems or address them through action are also encouraged. Relevant projects can create context for understanding the operation of social justice in various times and places, and/or projects may reflect advocacy grounded in research.
