Welcome to Veterans Services
The Sonoma State University Veterans Services office serves veterans, reservists, and dependents of veterans. Our main function is to verify student enrollment for those receiving United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits. We also process CalVet tuition fee waivers.
Effective 4 April 2016 the Veterans Affairs office will be renamed Veterans Services and reception for the office will relocate to Salazar 1000 at the Financial Aid counter area. The reorganization and relocation is due to the retirement of current Veterans Affairs Director, Peter Neville who is leaving Sonoma State after many years of dedicated service. The Veterans Coordinator and School Certifying Official will be Julia Ibanez. Julia has held a variety of responsibilities in the SSU Financial Aid Office since 2000, most recently as coordinator of federal and state programs and disbursement and reconciliation processing.
Effective 4 April 2016, the Veterans Services Office reception hours will be Monday through Friday from 0900 to 1700. Drop-in office hours are held on Thursdays from 1500 to 1630.
Veterans Services student assistant Christopher Graham will continue his role at the new office location.
Signage for the reception area has been ordered.
