Mending and Repair: Special Sewing Skills Workshop

Flyer for event

Not Open to the Public

Tue, Apr 21, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Location: SSU Library Makerspace

Thinking of tossing that shirt with a hole in the arm? Pop a button and not know how to fix it? Hemming those too-long pants with the library stapler again? Just in time for Earth Day and sustainability celebrations across the world, this Makerspace workshop will provide an introduction to clothing repair and mending. Learn skills such as understanding which stitches to use for hems, how to sew a button back on when the fabric has ripped, and how to patch a hole in an otherwise wearable garment. Bring an item of clothing with you that needs a little love, and we'll work with you on how to bring it back to life!
