Naturalist Ed Series: Birds of the Osborn Preserve

View of a bird on a branch

Sat, Aug 29, 2:00 pm

Location: Fairfield Osborn Preserve

Join us for a free educational event and hike at Fairfield Osborn Preserve, a 15-minute drive from the main campus. Birds play vital roles in pollinating, controlling pests, fertilizing plants and more. And they are beautiful, and connect people to nature perhaps more than any other creature. U.S. Fish and Wildlife estimates that there are over 100 million birdwatchers in America. Join us to learn about fall bird diversity at the Osborn Preserve! We will explore a variety of vegetation communities to search for, find and observe birds. We will emphasize the importance of birding by ear and play around with Merlin and eBird, two versatile, powerful apps developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
