The film takes a close examination of the hard-fought struggle to bring Black Studies programs to the Bay Area communities of Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco. Public Talk: Oil and Imperialism: The United States and Venezuela

In this timely public lecture, Dr. James Mestaz explores the historical relationship between imperial power, oil, and U.S. intervention in Venezuela. The talk examines how decades of energy interests, strategic concerns, and domestic political pressures created an entangled history that continues to shape relations between the two countries today. Join us to better understand recent events and gain clearer insight into debates over U.S. policy and political influence in Venezuela.
