To all Staff and Management Employees:
Would you like to be more involved in the Sonoma State campus community? Interested in being a part of shared governance? Want to deepen your understanding of academic policy and process? Consider running for a seat on the Staff Council!
Staff Council is soliciting statements of interest from anyone wishing to run for an officer position within the Staff Council. Staff Council meets 1-2 hours each month. Dates and times may vary. We are seeking candidates for the following positions:
- Staff Council Chair (2 year term): The Chair presides at all meetings of the Staff Council and will vote only when needed to constitute a quorum or to break a tie vote. The Chair prepares an agenda and sends to the membership with a notice of each meeting.
- Staff Council Secretary (2 year term): The Secretary assumes the duties of the Chair in the absences of the Chair and the Vice Chair.The Secretary maintains records of minutes; ensures that those minutes are appropriately distributed; and performs other duties as may be deemed necessary and assigned by the Chair.
- Staff Council Treasurer (2 year term): The Treasurer shall be responsible for all money acquired by Staff Council; pays all bills; assists the Chair in the preparation of the proposed annual budget; and performs other duties as deemed necessary and assigned by the Chair.
Applicants may indicate interest in more than one position and their name will appear as a choice for members to vote for in each position the applicant has indicated. Please send statements of interest to staffcouncil@sonoma.edu. We recommend that you obtain supervisory approval prior to running. Interest statements are due at noon on Friday, May 28, 2021. The opportunity to vote will begin the following week.
