TO: Campus community
FR: Missy Brunetta, Director for Emergency Services and Associate Risk Manager
The Offices of Emergency Services and Strategic Communications conducted a test of our emergency notification system this morning. The test is now concluded.
This testing exercise is conducted periodically to verify that our emergency notification system is functioning. The test consisted of issuing a
- text message to subscribed mobile phones;
- email notification to the entire campus community;
- voice call to your telephone number; and
- push notification to Rave Guardian safety app
You can verify or update your contact information by logging into MySSU (students) and MyHR (SSU employees). This information is added automatically to our emergency notification system for all students, faculty, and staff. If you believe you are subscribed to any of these systems but DID NOT receive a message, please email email@example.com.
Sonoma State University's Office of Emergency Services is managed by Risk Management & Safety Services and is responsible for maintenance of the campus Emergency Operations Plan. The plan includes how the university will plan, respond to, and recover from various emergencies and complies with the Standardized Emergency Management Systems (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The Office of Emergency Services website also includes information on how to prepare for and respond to an emergency.
Campus evacuation drills are scheduled in the first two weeks of the fall semester. For more information on evacuation procedures, please visit the evacuation website. Fall 2021 evacuation drills will not be announced to the campus community in advance. If you would like to request a disability related accommodation to not participate in evacuation drills, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (707) 664-3408.
We appreciate your commitment to safety. If you have questions about this test or any emergency-related matters, please contact my office at email@example.com.
