TEXTBOOK ADOPTION INFORMATION

Sonoma State University is providing students with course textbook adoption information in response to recent state laws concerning the high cost of course materials, including textbooks; and in an effort to comply with the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative.

Early publication of course textbook adoption information is intended to “...ensure that students have access to affordable course materials by decreasing cost to students and enhancing transparency and disclosure with respect to the selection, purchase, sale, and use of course materials.” (Higher Education Act, sec. 112, Textbook Information).

In addition, Sonoma State University is committed to ensuring that all students have timely access to course materials (CSU Executive Order 926 and Coded Memorandum AA-2007-04).  Instructional materials, to the extent possible, must be accessible to students with disabilities at the same time they are available to any other student enrolled in that program.  Early and complete collection of textbook assignments for classes will allow time for conversion to accessible formats.
