Low Ropes Course

What is a Low Ropes Course?

A low ropes course offers an opportunity for groups to work together to accomplish common goals and objectives as a team. A ropes course focuses on both individual and group development by encouraging teamwork, problem solving, communication, trust and lots of fun!

Course Information:

The SSU Ropes Course was first developed about three years ago, through a collaborative effort between the Kinesiology Department, ENSP Department, and Adventure Programs. A grant from Instructionally Related Activity Fees made this concept a reality in the Summer of 2009. The ropes course was built for the purpose of serving the SSU community in the areas of developing leadership, teamwork, trust, problem solving and communication among individuals and groups.

The course offers a wide variety of activities for all groups and ages. Many activities involve teamwork, problem solving, communication, trust and lots of fun! Participants will be put into unique situations with limited resources and will have to work together to accomplish a similar goal. Trained facilitators work to accomodate each individual group and can adapt to meet each group's specific goals while maintaining the participant's safety.
