Evidence for meeting target level for this element of Standard 1 is well documented through our program assessments of dispositions (1.3.def). Across programs these assessments include candidate interviews, portfolio assessments, performance assessments, and evaluation of clinical practice. For each program, candidates demonstrate that they can work with families and hold the belief that all students can learn. Table 1.3.def provides the learning outcomes that address our candidates’ ability and the connections to the School’s dispositions at the initial and the advanced levels. Tables1.3.c and 1.3.def also provide the assessments, scoring guides, and data that present the evidence of our candidates’ competence and Professional Dispositions.
Another source of evidence on candidate target level professional dispositions is the sample of candidate work. When reviewing the samples of the PACT, prior Education Specialist Portfolio, or the graduate candidate work, evidence is provided for how well our candidates work with students, families, colleagues, and communities and meet the expectations of our unit, the professional organizations, and state professional teaching standards for professional educators.
