Evidence exists that the unit has the leadership, authority, budget, personnel, facilities, and resources to ensure that candidates meet professional, state, and institutional standards.
The unit has identified the following areas that need further elaboration: (1) develop a permanent funding source to support clinical practice and (2) find ways to make our assessment system sustainable.
As the University system continues in budgetary cuts, the Unit needs to find ways to reduce costs in the areas of assessment and accreditation as our overall budget decreases. The Dean in consultation with the Council of Chairs and the Director of Assessment and Accreditation will come up with a plan to make the assessment system sustainable. Furthermore, given the increased attention focused on student teaching a way to support these increased activities should be found. The Dean in consultation with the Council of Chairs, will create a permanent funding line to the provost to support Clinical Practice initiatives.
