Living Off Campus
The majority of Sonoma State's sophomores, junior, seniors, and graduate students live in the local community. They live in a variety of locations from Rohnert Park to Petaluma or Santa Rosa. Eventhough a large percentage of the student body lives off-campus, students are very active with their campus life. While living off-campus students get and stay connected in many ways, such as campus employment, participating in collegiate level athletics or intermural sports, joining a club or Greek sorority or fraternity, academic study groups and clubs, or pursuing leadership opportunities and student government. You will feel more connecting to SSU and have a more fulfilling college experience if you get acquainted with the Center for Student Leadership, Involvement, and Service. Finding the right place or people to live with is just as important when trying to make your college experience positive. SSU Housing Services provides off-campus housing assistance in a variety of formats. We have a partnership with OCH101 to provide an extensive online rental listing and roommate matching service. This rental database allows you to really tailor your search and find roommates with similar lifestyles.To get started with creating your Roommate Finder profile, visit OCH101 at http://roommate.och101.com/ssu/. During the Spring, we host workshops for first-time renters and outline the rental process and where to look. We also distribute a variety of newsletters, a resource booklet with local apartment complexes, and other informational sheets.
