OUR STUDENTSStudents entering the Math major at Sonoma State join an enthusiastic, collaborative, hard-working group. Majors have a choice of 5 tracks: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Secondary Teaching, and Pure Mathematics. They work together on their classwork, compete in events such as the annual national Putnam Competition and Math Modeling Competition.Students also produce many events during the year, such as Pi Day (3/14) and the Spring Mathematics Festival. Your support can help sponsor student events, support prizes for participants in competitions, or sponsor student attendance at the Spring Mathematics Festival dinner to network with alums! |
|
OUR GRADUATES SSU Math graduates go on to great careers in many fields, including teaching, finance, applied mathematics, law, and more. Many continue their studies in graduate programs of Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, and more. Graduates visit their alma mater each year for the Spring Mathematics Festival dinner and often speak in the Department's Colloquium series about their Mathematics-related careers. |
