OSBORN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FIELD PROGRAM
The Fairfield Osborn Preserve has hosted environmental education programs for children in Sonoma County since the 1970's. We currently take classes of 3rd-5th graders in some of the smallest groups of any outdoor environmental education program, giving each child a better opportunity to learn from the natural world.
One week before their visit, our trained naturalists will visits the elementary school classroom with a presentation and slideshow. Then the class spends one day on our 411-acre preserve, located on the northwest flank of Sonoma Mountain, engaging in experiential education in a variety of natural communities.
Our naturalists have been trained in natural history, state content standards, research and management, and environmental education pedagogy. For more information on how we align to state content standards, please look at our Grade School Curricula.

To apply, download an application. Please view the events calendar for submission deadlines and available tour dates.
I will remember this experience for the rest of my life.
