Docent Naturalist Training

  • Jan 25-Feb 2 - Required informational Meetings for the Osborn Naturalist Training will be held Jan 25 (Wed), Jan 26 (Thurs), Feb 1 (Wed) and Feb 2 (Thurs). All meetings are 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Room 101, Darwin Hall, SSU Campus. The training is open to all interested participants. Docent Naturalist Training

  • Feb 3 (Fri) - Registration Deadline
  • Feb 5-Mar 4 (Sundays) - Naturalist Training is five consecutive Sundays (Feb 5, 12, 19, 26, March 4) from 9 am to 5 pm.

Osborn Elementary School Tours

  • Feb 10 (Fri) - Applications due for elementary school tours of the Osborn Preserve.
  • Feb 17 (Fri) - Notification of lottery results for elementary school applicants to the program.

Walk Through the Watershed on Seawolf Day

  • The SSU Field Station & Nature Preserves' Open House features Insecta-Palooza!, a smorgasbord of educational interactive stations about bugs for people of all ages to enjoy. Our Open House is held each October, on the Saturday before Halloween. Join us for a fantastic day of entomological exploration! A rare opportunity to view the SSU insect collections, live insect zoo and museum. Interactive labs and activities compliment lectures for all levels. Something for everyone - from budding to professional entomologists, expert gardeners, and aquatic environment enthusiasts. Please join us.

Copeland Creek Symposium

  • May 3 (Fri) - SSU students will present the results of their work on Copeland Creek during the 2012-13 academic year.
