Job Title: Circle Leader group co-facilitator. This is directed at being a more independent way of volunteering.
Amount/Type: personal development, the freedom to facilitate already existing program topics and creation of own ideas.
Internship Length: 15 or 30 weeks
Hours Per Week: 1-5
Focus: Domestic Violence, Education, Human Resource Management, Mental Health, Outreach, Research
Setting: Community Agency and School
Training: Curriculum and trainings will be provided to you as a circle leader. You will have a mentor facilitator to utilize as a resource when planning agendas. The mentor facilitator will also provide weekly updates on ideas for planning group activities.
Duties: Your primary role as circle leader is to be the leader with another volunteer during each group. You will be leading activities, and using an already prepared curriculum while having fun and engaging with the girls.
Qualifications: Culturally sensitive, willingness to participate in activities with adolescent girls, positive role models.
Due to district requirements, it is important to apply for this internship as soon as possible. Fingerprinting and background checks are required because of the nature of this internship. This process may take up to 4 weeks, so the sooner an application is processed the sooner one can complete their hours.
Program sites run between the hours of 3-6pm. Time of program operation is site dependent. Groups are 2.5 hours long. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at their assigned sites one half-hour early. Site openings are available in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Cloverdale, Guerneville, Monte Rio, and Windsor.
