Internship Description

Job Title: White Water Rafting Intern

Compensation: paid
Amount/Type: Room and board plus stipend of $400/month. Whitewater school, Disability Awareness Training, and Swift Water Rescue training.
Internship Length: Spring/Summer
Hours Per Week: To be determined

Population: Adolescents, Adults
Focus: Developmental Disabilities, Homeless, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Physical Disabilities
Setting: South Fork of the American River (camping)

Duties: Assist and/or guide whitewater rafting trips, lead outdoor activities and games, aid in logistical planning, help coordinate volunteers, repair equipment, and assist with program development and maintenance of the camp.

Qualifications: Have a desire to develop leadership skills, some rafting experience, interest in working with special populations.

Additional Information: The season is April-September and applications are typically due by early March. Please call if you are interested.
